It is unknown how long the Star Theatre presented gay-themed movies, it appears it happened from 1970-1972 as per the ad below Left from The Oregonian October 1, 1971, however by September 1972 per an ad below from The Oregonian, September 19, 1972, it appears that the films shown were more heterosexual.

Per an article in The Fountain newspaper, April 1971 under “Adult Cinema” “STAR: Corner NW 6th & Burnside. Portland’s classic burlesque adult house for nearly fifty years. Regular theatre, completely modernized. Concession stand offers horney books and hardcore 8mm film along with soft drinks and popcorn. OPen 10AM daily, new show every Friday. Bargin matinee daily ‘til Noon. Gained fame in postwar years with Tempest Storm on stage, now featuring color, sound 16mm and 35mm of the hotest, roughest variety.”
Per ad in The Oregonian, September 22, 1969 movies playing were non-gay.
